Soy Lecithin Supplementation Promotes Growth and Increases Lipid Digestibility in GIFT Nile Tilapia Raised at Suboptimal Temperature

Soy lecithin (SL) is a source of phospholipids, which play crucial role in determining cell membrane structure, fluidity, and functionality. This study investigated the effects dietary SL on performance, nutrient digestibility, body composition Nile tilapia juveniles (average initial weight 12.2 g) raised at 22 °C. The experimental diets contained increasing levels (0.0, 21.0, 43.0, 64.0 g kg−1). best gain feed efficiency occurred with 42.2 49.8 kg−1 inclusion, respectively, estimated through quadratic regression after 90 days feeding. fish was also affected by feeding SL, decrease total lipids viscerosomatic hepatosomatic indices but an increase polyunsaturated fatty acids. A digestibility trial using only two (0SLD 43SLD) revealed increased lipid acids fed 43SLD. In addition, consumption digestible nutrients highest diet 43SL. Therefore, supplementation beneficial fall/spring for as it can improve growth, when supplemented within range 42 to 50 diet.
